Travis Barker: “Tom Wanted To Record Songs That Sounded Like Coldplay”

Blink-182's Travis Barker recently told Mr. Wavvy that if it were up to Tom DeLonge, the band would sound a lot different now.

"Towards the last couple albums, Tom was obsessed with U2 and wanted to sound like U2," the drummer explained. "He wanted to basically record songs that sounded like Coldplay."

"For us, it was always like, 'Blink is Blink, man. We just want to sound like fucking Blink-182'. That's why we're in this band," he continued.

"We love Blink, and we love the sound of Blink."

When talking about the new album that's been recorded with Matt Skiba and producer John Feldmann, Travis said: "I think it's touching on everything that Blink-182 is and has been over the past 20 years."
